Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo has conceded that the idea of moving to MLS in the future is an ‘interesting’ one that he could consider.

The 30-year-old remains a hugely important player for the Spanish giants, as he looks to continue to play his role in their continued success under Zinedine Zidane for the remainder of this season.

However, with few signs of decline in his general play, it is unlikely that he will leave the Bernabeu any time soon. Nevertheless, it hasn’t stopped him from considering his long-term future which he has suggested could take him Stateside as MLS continues to grow in popularity and quality.

“What’s happening there is great, it’s fantastic,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“Maybe in the future will be a good chance for me to play there. You never know, but it’s something interesting. I consider it, of course, because, as I’ve said, soccer there has become better and better, so why not? I think that this is maybe going to be possible.

“I know that many players move there. I think it’s becoming better and better. It’s growing, I think it’s good. It’s good for me and young players that maybe one day we want to move there. So it’s good that football – ‘soccer’ – grows there.”

Ronaldo has scored a sensational 340 goals in 326 appearances for Madrid, but could one day follow in the footsteps of the likes of David Beckham, Kaka and David Villa in moving to the USA as the league as a whole continues to improve both on and off the pitch.

Although many have seen it as a haven for the latter stages of their career, the presence of such iconic figures with great talent has undoubtedly had a knock-on effect for the rest of the players and squads.
