Just one place and one point separates Leeds United and Huddersfield Town in the table as the two prepare to meet this lunchtime.

Leeds are currently ahead of their rivals with the club sitting 18th in the table, a result of a first home win of the season over Cardiff midweek.

The win was the first of new manager, Steve Evan’s reign and was the club’s first since a 2-1 away win to MK Dons in September.

Alex Mowatt was the hero for the Yorkshire side as his 63rd minute goal proved enough to secure the three points and ease the early pressure on Evans.

The Scottish manager will be out to make it back to back wins for the club for the first time since March 2015 on Saturday.

They face a Huddersfield side with a new man in charge. The club have appointed former USA International, David Wagner as their new manager.

Wagner, a former Borussia Dortmund U23 coach and highly regarded in the game, takes over from Chris Powell who was sacked on Wednesday.

The 44 year old quit his role as Dortmund’s under-23 manager at the start of this month after four years and had been linked with a role with Liverpool. Wagner guided Borussia Dortmund II, Dortmund’s reserve side, to promotion to the German third tier in 2012, although they were relegated back to the regionalised fourth tier last season.

Wagner will have striker Jamie Paterson available after he trained on Friday following a knock suffered against Reading in midweek, while Murray Wallace or Tommy Smith are in fighting it out to replace the suspended Joel Lynch.

Leeds meanwhile have Sol Bamba (suspension) and midfielder Tom Adeyemi available again following the clash with Cardiff. Adeyemi was ineligible midweek and could miss out on a return to the side following the goal-scoring appearance of his replacement, Mowatt.
