As FC Porto look to cut their losses on midfielder Giannelli Imbula, they are understood to have slashed the player’s asking price to €30m.

Imbula, who only joined Porto from Olympique de Marseille for €25m during the summer, has a buy-out clause of €50m in his contract.

However, Porto are willing to forgo that fee, and would be prepared to offload the box-to-box operator for just €30m in order to move on from his disastrous transfer [A Bola via Le 10 Sport].

The player has started just nine matches this season from his high-profile move, and has wholly failed to establish himself in the Primeira League.

Arsenal had been linked to the player—who is eligible for France, Belgium or the Democratic Republic of Congo—during the summer, but ultimately opted not to move for the player.

However, could Imbula represent a good option for the Gunners once again, particularly with Francis Coquelin injured?

AC Milan have also been linked to the player, while Southampton are keen to move for the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Victor Wanyama, another player linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
