The Argentine fired the Partenopei to a 4-2 win over Sampdoria on Sunday, notching his 21st goal in 21 Serie A games so far this season.

While he hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down, Sarri has praised his frontman and insisted that he wouldn’t want to swap him for any other striker in Europe.

“Higuain is becoming what I always thought he should be, in other words the best striker in Europe and perhaps the world,” he told the media.

“I wouldn’t even exchange him with Robert Lewandowski.”

Sarri remained tight-lipped on his side’s Scudetto chances, despite the fact that their rivals, aside from Juventus, have all faltered in recent weeks which in turn has suggested that they are emerging as the favourites.

Fiorentina, Inter and Roma have all fallen off the pace while Juve will hope to make it 10 consecutive wins when they host the Giallorossi on Sunday night.

Nevertheless, the Italian tactician remained defiant in that his objectives have not changed this year and the club will continue to add quality young players to the squad in a bid to continue to build for the future as well as the present.

Despite Sarri downplaying their form and title chances, provided Higuain continues to score at his current rate, the southern giants will certainly be involved in the Scudetto race at the business end of the campaign.
